Let Life Live Through You: A Reminder to Embracing Change

Change is a constant in life, and often, it feels like a whirlwind turning everything upside down. I recently came across a quote from the book I was reading “Forty Rules of Love” that really resonated with me: “Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead, let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?

This quote encourages us to embrace change rather than resist it. It’s natural to feel scared or uneasy when things start to shift. We are creatures of habit, and the familiar feels safe. But change is an essential part of growth. By resisting it, we might miss out on new opportunities and experiences that could enrich our lives.

When life seems to be turning upside down, it’s easy to panic and think the worst. But this quote reminds us to pause and consider: how do we know the new side won’t be better? Often, the greatest opportunities arise from the most unexpected changes. What seems like a setback today could be the beginning of something wonderful tomorrow.

Letting life live through us means going with the flow and trusting the process. It’s about having faith that things will work out, even if we can’t see how right now. But, this doesn’t mean we should be passive or avoid taking action. Instead, it means being open to possibilities and not clinging too tightly to our current situation.

In my own life, I’ve found that the most significant and rewarding changes often started with discomfort and uncertainty. By embracing change and letting go of resistance, I’ve discovered new passions, met incredible people, and grown in ways I never imagined.

Embracing change isn’t always easy, but it can lead to wonderful new chapters in our lives. So, the next time change comes your way, try not to resist it. Embrace it with an open heart and mind. Who knows? The side you’re moving towards might just be better than the one you’re leaving behind.
